The Parish Council takes seriously the need to carefully handle any personal data.

Middleton-in-Teesdale and Newbiggin Parish Council processes personal data to carry out its statutory functions.

We may collect and process data relating to:

·       Residents making enquiries

·       Councillors and staff

·       Contractors

We process data under Public Task, Legal Obligation or Contract lawful bases.

Personal data is retained according to the Council’s Retention Schedule.

Individuals have rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), including the right of access, rectification, erasure (where applicable), restriction, objection and the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
